Celebrate Christmas in the City

Your Christmas visit

Everything you need to know when coming to the city for Christmas.

About the Christmas Festival

The 2022 Christmas Festival is presented by City of Melbourne with support from the Victorian Government.

Getting to the city

The Christmas Festival takes place in various locations and unique spaces in Melbourne, including Fed Square, Melbourne Town Hall, Bourke Street Mall and more.

Browse our city maps for more information and see our tips for getting to the city by public transport, car or bicycle.

Once again, Melbourne Town Hall and Christmas Square are lighting up with 100% wind powered Christmas cheer.

You can help us make the festive season more sustainable by walking, cycling or using public transport, bringing your own water bottle and reusable bags, and by reducing waste where you can while you’re ticking things off your Christmas shopping list.

City of Melbourne is committed to making events as accessible as possible. If you have any questions regarding accessibility at Christmas events, please contact us.
