Big Saturday: Fat Freddy's Drop

For over two decades, Fat Freddy’s Drop have navigated their way from the incubator of sunshine reggae through a colour-saturated field of soul psychedelia before swerving onto a desolate Detroit superhighway at night. This world-renowned seven-piece from New Zealand will be bringing their potent mix of jazz virtuosity and diaphragm-wrecking digital sonics to Melbourne in a massive two-hour set, only at MIJF.

Joining the supersized line-up are some of the titans of Melbourne’s thriving soul, funk and jazz scene – The Bamboos, Emma Donovan & the Putbacks, and a new project from Harry James Angus.
