Takashi

In typical Melbourne style, Takashi Bar is set in what used to be a car park nestled between towering buildings, up a skinny laneway street in the heart of the city. Named after the manga character in the popular anime, Akira, this summertime bar is serving up refreshing highballs and other tasty tipples Thursday to Sunday afternoon until late.

Upon arrival, make your way up to the decked-out horse cart bar and have the barkeep whip you up a house highball with Toki whisky and soda or a Roku Gin (think green tea and cherry blossoms).

If you’re feeling peckish there’s a humble food menu of fries with the excellent Japanese Kewpie mayo, delicious karaage as well as tempura vegetables – also served with a side of Kewpie.
