I'm looking for...

  • Interior of festively decorated restaurant.
  • Bamboo steamer of dumplings.

Shanghai Street

  • Cafe
  • Restaurant

There are a number of Shanghai Street branches within central Melbourne, but the Bourke Street restaurant is the largest option, with a capacity of 130, and has a slightly more upmarket menu.

Nothing speaks of Shanghai's cuisine more than the xiaolong bao, a soup-filled dumpling that can be messy, but is always satisfying. Or try the Shanghai-style braised pork belly with Chinese steamed bread.

Other regions of China are represented here as well. Try the stir fried sliced pork belly with Sichuan-style chili sauce if you want to add a little spice to your meal.
