Pawa Cafe and Bar

  • Bar
  • Cafe

Established by Aboriginal woman Niyoka Bundle from the Gundijtmara people of south west Victoria and the Yuin people of Bega, Pawa brings together native ingredients and familiar foods.

Pawa offers a seasonal offering of pastries, salads, sandwiches and more. Explore the tastes of native flavours with an ever-changing menu including lilly pilly croissants, strawberry gum brownies and kangaroo meat pies. Dine indoors or out, overlooking the Yarra and enjoy spectacular views of Melbourne, or simply enjoy takeaway.

Come evening, settle in with a cheese plate or grazing platter made with native flavours, alongside crafted cocktails made with Pawa’s very own Taka Gin. Or, pop in and raise a glass of wine from the all-Australian wine list with friends for a perfect pre-show.

With a focus on ethical and sustainable practices, Pawa works with a network of Indigenous native food growers, farmers and foragers as well as collaboration with local artisans and makers.

The City of Melbourne respectfully acknowledges the Traditional Owners of the land we govern, the Wurundjeri Woi-wurrung and Bunurong Boon Wurrung peoples of the Eastern Kulin and pays respect to their Elders past, present and emerging.

We acknowledge and honour the unbroken spiritual, cultural and political connection the Wurundjeri, Bunurong, Dja Dja Wurrung, Taungurung and Wadawurrung peoples of the Eastern Kulin have to this unique place for more than 2000 generations.

We are committed to our reconciliation journey, because at its heart, reconciliation is about strengthening relationships between Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal peoples, for the benefit of all Victorians.
