Gypsy and Pig

  • Restaurant
  • Licensed

Gypsy and Pig is a tonkatsu restaurant, celebrating the prized pale pork known as kurobuta, sourced from the heritage breed black Berkshire pig.

This particular pig takes longer to breed to maturity and thus costs a little more but they tend to retain a higher fat content and thus end up juicy and succulent.

The meat is prepared in tonkatsu style – a deep-fried pork fillet that originated in Japan but with French influence.

If pork isn't for you, other traditional Japanese options include salmon sashimi and Wagyu tataki, chicken katsu and hotpots.
