Coming together at Christmas will be extra special for Melbourne families this year. Feel the atmosphere with a casual stroll amongst the lights, sights and sounds of the city. Or share the experience at a crafty workshop or festive market.

Find joy at Christmas Square

Fed Square transforms into Christmas Square, a festive wonderland. Marvel at the glittering 16-metre LED Christmas tree, topped by a twinkling star. Have a look inside Santa’s Big Workshop to see the man in red making toys and presents. He’s never too busy to stop and give you a wave, or ask a friendly elf for a socially-distanced snap with Santa. 27 November to 25 December.

Go on a Magical Christmas Quest

Each Friday in December, look for five new clues posted on the Christmas Festival website. Then challenge the kids to set off on a Magical Christmas Quest. They’ll have to navigate through laneways and arcades to find the answers, and see the city in a whole new way. There’s prizes including weekly $250 city retailer vouchers to win.

Visit the Myer Christmas Windows

It wouldn’t be Christmas without a trip to the Bourke Street Mall to see the iconic Myer windows. Now in its 65th year, the nostalgic 2020 display revisits characters from the past 25 years. 14 November to 24 December.
