Description
Melburnians can sashay down String Bean Alley to find the perfect Christmas gift. Think locally made toys, specialty chocolate, the hottest selection of books, one-of-a-kind jewellery, scented delights, vintage fashion and much more.
The recent addition of new retailers to String Bean Alley means the Market has a stronger gift offering than ever before. Many of the String Bean Alley traders are already in full Christmas-gifting mode with festive products already attracting high foot traffic within the precinct.
The Market's historic sheds offer a treasure trove of unique Christmas discoveries with the Queen Victoria Market Gift Guide back for 2019. The Gift Guide gathers stallholders' best gift ideas; everything from quirky Kris Kringle gifts under $20 to eco-friendly, sustainable presents. The guide will be available from the Visitor Hub in String Bean Alley and also online.
Die-hard Christmas fanatics and those in need of updating their Christmas decorations can visit the Market's dedicated, year-round Christmas wonderland, Ambiance, and deck their halls with the latest ornaments, statues and decorations.
The Market also hosts sustainable Christmas workshops for those wanting to create their own gorgeous, planet-friendly gifts. The Taste of Christmas demonstration on Saturday 14 December (11am–midday) sees chef and Market ambassador Daniel Wilson guide Christmas cooks.
