'The Queen of Bossa Nova' Lisa Ono holding her first Australia tour to celebrate her 30th debut anniversary.
Lisa Ono is a Japanese-Brazilian Bossa Nova singer. She began singing and playing the guitar at age 15, debuting as a professional Bossa Nova singer in 1989. Her natural voice, rhythmic guitar playing and her charming smile led her to huge success and popularised Bossa Nova in Asia.
Lisa Ono has performed with many top musicians such as the legendary Antonio Carlos Jobim, the jazz samba giant Joao Donato, and has been performing enthusiastically in New York, Brazil and many Asian countries. The album Dream (1999), sold over 200,000 copies in Japan, and since then she has established a determined position in the Japanese Bossa Nova community.
