ArtPlay's New Ideas Lab supports artists and children to work together to develop new arts experiences.
Obang is a performative installation space designed for babies aged 6 to 18 months along with their care-givers, and is inspired by the traditional Korean concept of obang. In this work, obang refers to five primary colours and explores the spatial meaning of home.
In these 'making' workshops, you will enter a Korean grandmother's home and will be invited to participate in the creation of performance spaces (kitchen, bedroom, bathroom, toilet and living room).
Obang is a joyful and interactive experience featuring puppetry, story and free-play in an immersive environment. Join in to be a part of the development of this work-in-progress.
Age: 6 months to 18 months. Each child must be accompanied by an adult. If you are bringing more than one child, we recommend that extra adults attend.
