Description

The 2017 MelbourneEast Arts Festival is a celebration of creativity in words, music, dance and visual arts.

The festival includes two exhibitions: Shapeable Spaces – still life paintings and quirky collages by Anne Warren; and Captured in Bronze, sculptures by Michael Meszaros. The exhibitions will be opened by Bishop Ian George AO at 8.30pm on Friday 18 August.

The program also includes a chamber orchestra performance by La Fraternita di Solisti, conducted by Robert Dora, on Friday at 7pm.

Events on Saturday 19 August include a Puppet Adventures Workshop led by Helen Scrutton at 2.30pm, followed at 5pm by countertenor Hamish Gould and pianist David Lempriere-Laughton performing a classical and baroque program, Passion, Betrayal and Triumph. At 8pm, An Evening with Noel Coward will be presented by Peter Hurley.

On Sunday there is a Festival Eucharist at 10am, a ballet performance presented by DanceBourne Arts at 2pm, and at 3.30pm the Baker Trio presents a concert of toe-tapping dances and soulful songs with classical favourites to delight and inspire.
