Library at The Dock is a modern public library and community centre, in a spectacular setting. The three-storey building offers a traditional library collection alongside digital content, free Wi-Fi, recording studio, creative editing suites, community meeting spaces, study areas, performance venue for over 120 people and gallery space.
Library at The Dock celebrates Docklands’ rich maritime heritage with dedicated research facilities, exhibition spaces and reclaimed hardwood from the waterfront used throughout the building.
Flexible spaces are available for a diverse mix of community groups, musicians and visitors, including a ventilated green terrace for yoga, tai chi and movie screenings. Framed by water on one side and parkland on the other, Library at The Dock also hosts a children’s playground, with mature trees and green spaces to relax and play. The facility boasts the best in music and sound recording, digital gaming, interactive projections for kids and a fully-equipped performance space.
To get there, take tram 30 or 48 from the CBD, or it’s an easy walk from Southern Cross Station.
