Melbourne Zoo will reopen on 1 June 2020 with measures in place to ensure safe physical distancing and improved hygiene. Bookings will become available from Friday 29 May.
All visitors, including Zoo Members, will need to book tickets online. This is to manage visitor limits. Check the Zoos Victoria social media channels and website for online ticket availability.
Visitor numbers will increase gradually to allow animals to become used to people again. The Zoo will follow directions on open space per person of four square metres. Some zoo activities, like keeper talks and close encounters, will resume when safe to do so. The dinosaurs exhibit is still at all three zoos.
