Sister restaurant to Coda, Tonka explores the culinary world of the Orient, gourmet travelling from India and Sri Lanka to contemporary Australia.
The name pays homage to the legendary nightclub Honky Tonks that once graced this site, and the decor takes diners straight to the subcontinent. The inventive creations cooked up by executive chef Adam D'Sylva and head chef Ved Navghare are complemented by wines matched to the modern Indian-inspired menu.
Try the duck korma, with apple and vanilla spiced beetroot, or lamb curry with roasted coconut, black cardamom and white poppy seeds. Desserts include halwa, sorbet, meringue, mousse and gulab jamun.
